Mads has founded multiple companies, is an award-winning entrepreneur and is an early-stage startup and venture capital investor with Australia’s leading firms.
Journalist, Presenter + Speaker
Mads completed her journalism cadetship with News Corp and has worked a journalist, contributor and presenter across the ABC, ABC Radio National, Crikey, Channel Nine, Herald Sun, The Australian, News Corp, Women’s Agenda and other major media outlets covering current affairs, technology and politics with a sharp, human‑centred lens.
Mads is Co‑host of Human Cogs podcast, the author of You Are Not Your Face (2022) and is currently deep in the writing of The Letterings of Loss (coming 2026). In 2023 she received Monash University’s Award for the Highest Achievement in the Master of Journalism and also holds a VC Catalyst Investment Certification (2019) and Master of Entrepreneurship from the University of Melbourne (2016).
Co-Founder + CEO girledworld
Mads Co-Founded and was CEO (2016-2022) of girledworld – an award-winning national career education company, which worked with STEM, startup and tech industry mentors in 100’s of global and local companies to connect them with 40,000+ female students to upskill them for the jobs of tomorrow. Mads is a regular commentator on gender equality and gender issues, and is the very lucky Mum of four awesome daughters (her greatest ventures to date!) Mads received the University of Melbourne Faculty of Business and Economics Leadership Award (2020) for her founding leadership of girledworld and work across gender equality initiatives.
Co-Founder Future Amp
Mads Co-Founded Future Amp, a proprietary education technology platform providing personalised, Australian-curriculum aligned career education courses and online content to 50,000+ young people across Australia so they can explore industries, plan their future pathways, build skills and discover virtual work experience. Future Amp is supported by the University of Melbourne ‘Innovated’, Amazon Web Services, leading industries and David Gonski AC’s national Future Minds program to aid students in successfully transitioning from education to employment.
